THE BIG C Agency sees itself as a genuine Power BI agency. Our name has become synonymous with the Power Bi software in our clients’ notebooks. We stand for stunning and clean Power Bi report environments that can be easily circulated in a company as regular reports, infographics or PowerPoint presentation substitutes. Or to put it in the words of one of our client:
I was not aware that Power Bi can be made to look like this!

About Microsoft Power Bi
Microsoft Power Bi
(Software)
Microsoft Power BI – or “Power Bi” for short – is a self-service BI software developed by Microsoft for visualizing large amounts of data for business or academic purposes. The software is available as free desktop software and can also be used online in an organization via a subscription model. The software was released in 2011 and has been continuously developed since then.
Power Bi References
Data and internal processes are – rightly – a sensitive topic for many companies. Please understand that we present our BI references without the associated customer names and in an abstract format. Here is a selection of business intelligence references. If you would like to see more references, get in touch with us and we can bring a few more use cases specifically for your needs to a in-person meeting.
Use the accordion headers to expand each reference!
How do you manage more than five call center service providers and several hundred agents across various locations? Our answer: In a Power Bi Customer Support Intelligence Environment. Whether you are dealing with historical data, real-time information or forecasts, it is very likely that there is a suitable visualization for each scenario in the Power Bi toolkit. The environment is highly flexible, e.g. to be able to perform timeline comparisons or drill down to the agent level. And the best thing is: if you like to continue working in a tabular world, you can still do this when analyzing tickets or calls. With our Power Bi environments, however, it becomes much smarter and more interactive.
In this client project evolving around the broadband expansion in Germany, it quickly becomes clear how powerful a Power Bi Report environment can be. On the one hand, THE BIG C Agency has compiled a review of the fiber optic expansion work and the impact on the customer portfolio for a customer from the telecommunications and energy supply sector. On the other hand, Power Bi also allowed us to take a look into the future: Where will the next broadband expansion take place? What is the population potential? What change in existing customers is expected? Thanks to the simple connection of external and internal data sources, both business perspectives can be easily combined in one report server.
Do you work for a telecommunications company or an energy supplier? Do you have questions concerning existing customers or regional analyses in Power BI? Just send us a message and we will arrange a non-binding appointment.
Transition easily from an Excel into a Power Bi world
Our E-Commerce Starter Dashboard – a standard reporting environment for Shopify and online merchants – is a good example of the transition from the (old) Excel world into the new Power BI world. This standardized environment is available for both Microsoft platforms. The report environment aims to provide online retailers and their executives with a better start into the data-driven world of e-commerce. Besides a familiar interface, this is achieved with a focus on high-level business KPIs, merging data from different sources and the option of drill-down views and individualized segments.
Not all our Power Bi skills can be applied in client projects all the time. And not all our client projects can be showcased on this website. That is why we have helped ourselves in the past with smaller analytics stunts from the world of sports (soccer / football). From time to time, we create smaller Power BI showcases that deal with the facts behind the statistics of professional soccer. We answered questions like: Are there too many soccer legends from the near past? Which club had the most ex-players in the UEFA Champions League final? Which active player in the German women’s national team has the potential to become a record international?
Contact us
Feel free to drop us a contact request via the website or find us on LinkedIn. We usually respond within one day to all requests. Responses usually include a proposal for an initial meeting. Initial meetings last between 30 and 60 minutes (depending on complexity) and take place remotely to save both parties the hassle of traveling.
What is your preferred means of communication? Either use the Fluent Form contact form or use your mail client to send an email directly to the boss’s inbox. In both scenarios, please provide 1 to 2 sentences about the problem so that the initial conversation doesn’t turn into a corporate headache and we can prepare for your needs.
Many agencies out there promise clients “reports” or grand “environments”. In today’s world, this is a common business practice. We cannot and do not want to tell our clients that they should work with us. However, we try to apply a fixed set of basic principles to every project, which commits us to a high standard and sets us apart from other market players in one way or another. Nevertheless, choosing a Power Bi agency requires a leap of faith – after all, we might soon know more about your company than you do!
At the start of each project, our customers receive a custom Power BI theme for further use. This theme defines standard styles for graphs and text elements in Power BI. As Power BI themes are created in a less convenient JSON format, this is a step that many agencies tend to skip in projects.
We always create our Power BI designs based on existing corporate design specifications. Our stated goal is to create report environments for the client and their organization, not to become a report factory. Power Bi reports and dashboards are designed to be shared with people and departments. So they should look the part!
In our projects, 80% of our work is carried out in our customers’ data storage systems. We very much welcome and encourage this. The data should be located where it is most valuable and where it is generated. Whether network drive, cloud storage, Sharepoint or data warehouse – we are flexible in our ways of pulling data into Power BI!
Even though we at THE BIG C Agency pursue a commercial interest with our work, we do not want to create artificial dependencies with our projects. When we start projects, we try to prepare the client organizations for two scenarios: Firstly, we want to end and automate projects at some point. Anything else would not be considered “a project”. Secondly, we make sure the client organization is in a position to maintain and expand the infrastructure we have created on their own. Because the true potential of business intelligence lies in speed, collaboration with external service providers – no matter how well structured – always causes delays in work processes.
In our experience, BI projects often require an initial on-site component. The ideas of “what is requires of reports” are often too complex to verbalize and outline in video calls. Accordingly, we are willing to travel to meet the needs of our customers in Germany and Europe. However, the majority of the project duration is handled remotely in order to save customers and our implementers cost and effort.
Would you like to get to know us personally? Our home base is Düsseldorf and we can often be found working at SPACES Andreasquartier Düsseldorf.
Self Service BI Software Tier List
We are not stuck in our ways! We not only build Power Bi reports but also utilize Looker Studio or Tableau when required. See our Top 3 tier list for self service business intelligence software.
3.
Google Looker / Data Studio
Google Looker Studio is a handy tool for quickly and efficiently “prettifying” data from Google systems (GA4, Google Ads). In terms of functionality and data transformation, however, it still lags behind the tools in second and first place in some regards.
2.
Tableau
The self-service BI tool Tableau has a background in academia and has since been acquired by the US company Salesforce. It has some cool visuals and – with a few tricks – you can build very attractive dashboards. However, we deduct points for the limited functions in data transformation and visualization of raw data sets. In addition, the software is more suitable for organizations with larger budgets, as both the pricing model and the additional data engineering resources required can result in high costs.
1.
Power BI
Unsurprisingly, but still worth mentioning: Microsoft Power BI is our favorite self-service BI software! Reports can be created intuitively via drag-and-drop and the upstream Power Query module even allows adjustments to be made far down in the data stream. The pricing model of the tool in the Pro plan is unbeatable and it integrates extremely well with Microsoft collaboration platforms (Sharepoint, Teams, …).
